Winter is a Time for Connectedness
December 21, 2023
WINTER IS A TIME FOR COMFORT AND CARE
Whether you are sitting on a beach in the Florida Keys or bundling up in the mountains of Colorado, our bodies are telling us it is time for a reset, an unwind, and slowing down to relax in comfort. I’m not one that is big on New Year’s resolutions but I do like the start/stop mentality of reflection over the last 12 months and where I want to go in the next year. If you have gotten caught up in the hustle of the holidays, social events, and “have to’s” of the season…take a deep breath and a few minutes to enjoy where you are at right this very second.
AS THE DAYS ARE SHORT, WE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO TIME.
More than likely, time is either flying by this season or somehow slowing down in frustrating ways. We tend to be more tired and easily stressed out during the winter months. Our bodies are still in our ancient ways at different times of the year and don’t always keep up with the fast paced, technology-driven, overly stimulated ways of our modern society. Listen to your body. For over 20,000 years our ancestors have slowed down, enjoyed the lack of “doing”, told stories around the fire, quilted or crafted new items for the house, and embraced the darkness of the early afternoon to late night pause.
EMBRACE THE NEW YEAR.
2023 has felt like a wild ride for many of us. Lots of highs and lows and dips and dives and climbing mountains and cruising down long highways. We forget sometimes that these valleys and peaks are what make us feel so ALIVE. We are choosing to live BIGGER with more MEANING and we ARE taking the road less traveled. We want true connections, real friendships, deep meaning, and thoughtful conversation.
GRATITUDE AND LOVE.
I am so grateful that you are here and you found a place within this community to share, give, grow, and care. We lift each other up, support each other in our lives, and intentionally choose to build relationships with meaningful care and authenticity. THANK YOU for making this community the special place that it is. My life is forever changed for the better because of all of you.
